Filming Decaffeinated - short film

Film slate for scene 2 of Decaffeinated

Due to all the theatre festivals being suspended due to COVID-19, Limitless Academy of Performing Arts asked me to write them a film. They have an extremely talented group of youth and adult actors with a fantastic affiliated production studio called Panda Hat.  I was very excited to work with them again after their amazing production of my play Unlucky for Some

For the film, I had to write to a brief that included a big cast (three adults, twelve youth roles), a thirty minute run time, and a script which could all be filmed inline with COVID-19 restrictions in place. I had a week to deliver the first draft. I am up with Decaffeinated.

Synopsis:

After the staffroom is vandalised with anti-caffeine flyers and the coffee machine stolen, a secondary school Headmistress has to spend her day interrogating twelve students who attended a detention on the night of the incident.

Filming took place during April 2021 and is currently being edited.
